Cobra Lightbar - Style E 04-0350 Review

Cobra Lightbar - Style E 04-0350

I purchased this lightbar based on the Cobra website that said it fit my Suzuki c109r with stock and some after market windshields. I first tried a Memphis shades windshield. It did not fit. I then purchased the Suzuki windshield made for my c109r. Again it did not fit. The Suzuki dealer that did the work for me spent several hours wiring the lightbar and trying to install both windshields.
I called Cobra on Saturday and left a message on their voicemail. They called back on Tuesday and said that the lightbar did not fit the c109r with any windshield. They first told me that the website did not say it would fit with any windshield. When I checked their website, it had been changed since so it no longer did say it fit with any windshield. The "customer service" person I spoke with said the lightbar did not fit with any windshield and made one excuse after another tryng to explain what the website used to say and why it had been changed.
The "customer service" person agreed to take the lightbar back and refund my money but refused to pay for the wasted labor time spent installing the lightbar and windshield.
I never would have purchased the Cobra lightbar if the Cobra website had not said it would fit with some windshields. I only wanted the time wasted installing the lightbar (it takes some time to wire it) and the Suzuki windshield (not the Memphis Shades windshield since the website did say it only fit with some after market windshields). Cobra said it was not their policy to pay for labor for any reason.
Besides all this, the Cobra parts book showed images of the different styles of lightbar. The image did not match the lightbar that was shipped to me. The "customer service" person told me the images were generic only and did not represent what was actually shipped however each image was labeled with a letter and the letter matched to a part number for the make and model it fit.
Bottom line is it seems that you cannot believe what the Cobra website says or what their parts catalog shows. I will never purchase from Cobra again.

Bosch 22618 120V 18V Impact Wrench Review

Bosch 22618 120V 18V Impact Wrench
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I used this to take off and replace all 4 struts/shocks on my car today. My last problem when replacing brakes was that there were SO MANY rusty, corroded and just plain stuck nuts and bolts that the job took FOREVER.
This tool unscrews nasty, stuck-on nuts and bolts like they were held in by wax. There was only one bolt that this tool couldn't get out. I hate that freaking bolt.
I investigated a TON of impact drivers and wrenches before buying this one. The Lowe's tool expert told me that Bosch was the best brand they sell, and this one gets as low as $170 from amazon.com (not marketplace). This one also has the highest torque of the cordless impact wrenches I looked at, and if you ever want to use it as an impact driver there is a $10 adapter.
One complaint: I went through 2.5 batteries today during a long, hard 10 hour job on the car. Didn't matter though cuz the charger takes 30 minutes.
This thin feels sturdy in your hand, you know it's quality. Nicely balance and small enough to get into hard to reach places. Plus the warranty is AMAZING: 3 years!!! Would definitely recommend and buy again. Can't wait to use it again.

3dCarbon 691039 05-09 Ford Mustang GT Eleanor Style Grille w/ Pony Emblem Review

3dCarbon 691039 05-09 Ford Mustang GT Eleanor Style Grille w/ Pony Emblem
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just purchased this grille (from another site) and installed it on my 06 mustang this past Saturday afternoon. The `Eleanor' grille looks to be made of the same type of plastic that the original grille is made from, and feels just about as durable. It also seems to have more openings within the honeycomb areas. The grille kit that I purchased comes with the grille (of course), wiring extenders, superwhite bulbs (the bright blue-ish white type), a tri-color pony grille emblem, and a small package of a few assorted parts. NOTE: I can't say if yours will come with the emblem, or the superwhite bulbs.
The instructions state that you must remove the front bumper to remove the grille, but my son happened to recall seeing instructions on the web that states this will not be necessary if you take your time.
I used two small flat head screwdrivers to pry-up the push-clips that hold the radiator top plastic cover. The push-clips are two pieces, so you will be gently prying up the center piece of the clip. Once you have up the center, you can cautiously pull out the entire clip. There are about six or eight of these clips (I can't remember which now).
There are two hex head screws that need to be removed. Each one is located at the general area of the top-side of the radiator. If you look at the part of the body that is the divider between the headlight and the grille area and move upward until you see one of these hex head screws. It's the same location on the other side of the radiator area.
Next, you be addressing the grille clips that hold the grille to the radiator/bumper area. This was the most difficult and nervous period.
If you look around the `Eleanor'grille, you will see an example of those clips. Those same clips of the grille will go into the same radiator/bumper area once you remove the old grille. I had to use the longest Allen wrench that was as skinny as I could get. I used that wrench to help pry back the plastic safety clip of the body radiator area that helps hold in the grille clip. The amount of prying back that I had to do made me feel that I would break the plastic body safety clips at anytime, but I was surprised that I never did with any of them, although I can't say that you will not be as lucky as myself. Oh, you will have to do something like this even if you follow their instructions to remove the entire bumper. The two sides were the most difficult, and the bottom seemed to be the easiest. This part of the removal took about 30 minutes, but it sped up more as I learned how to handle these clip areas. This same area of your install may go faster, or slower.
Once the grille is out and you have disconnected the light harnesses, swapping out the lights goes pretty easy, just make sure that you use the new screws that hold in the lights instead of the old ones. The old ones are a little longer and could penetrate the grille if you use them.
The rest of the install is easy and you can follow the supplied instructions from this point forward, and reinstalling the grill is a breeze. Although I didn't time myself, I would have to guess the entire install took somewhere around an hour and a half.
One comment about the supplied bulbs. 3dCarbon supplied my grille kit with super white bulbs that have been modified to be held in with a metal clip. They offer normal bulbs, but they have been modified too. I really am not crazy about the super white bulbs and would have opted for the normal if I had known. You'll have to purchase replacement bulbs from 3dCarbon for about $25 a piece since they modify them themselves, unless you have the patience to grind off plastic with something like a Dremel tool.

Westin 33-1285 2.5" Black Steel Ultimate Bull Bar with Stainless Steel Skid Plate Review

Westin 33-1285 2.5 Black Steel Ultimate Bull Bar with Stainless Steel Skid Plate
Average Reviews:

Warning - This Westin 33-1285 Bull Bar model number 33-1285 is listed on the same page as Item model number: 27-6520 (which actually is Westin runnig board, not a Bull Bar). As a result, I received the wrong item TWICE (the second one as a replacement). What a wonderful customer service has Amazon!
Continuation, as of 04/22/2008 - after endless e-mails to Amazon's customer service, they finally corrected the wrong Item number, and wrong Dimensions. Unfortunately, they also changed a seller - it is not Amazon anymore, but some AutoPartsWay. The price skyrocketed from $290.90 to 314.54. There is no more free shipping option - it is now fixed $27.99. The difference in price is now $51.63. It is absolutely unfair and deceiving. Don't buy this product from Amazon - I've just got it for only $279.00 (3-days shipping included) from a decent company.
Shame on you, Amazon!

H-D Detachable Tour-Pak Rack Kit 53303-07 Review

H-D Detachable Tour-Pak Rack Kit 53303-07

Overall I will say this kit does what it's suppose to do. However, the latches are really difficult to turn and get to clamp down. I actually have to carry tools with me to get them on and off. The big disappointment is that Harley, from what I can tell, didn't put any ways to lock it. A thief can now walk up to your bike and pop the two latches and walk off with your tour pak. Not cool.

2003-2006 Lincoln Navigator 4-Wheel Air Suspension Conversion Kit Review

2003-2006 Lincoln Navigator 4-Wheel Air Suspension Conversion Kit

I received the struts for 2000 Cadillac, the front struts did not bolt "no drill" as advertised and the rear springs make terrible noise..I went to install these on a customers vehicle. I initially called on 3/17 and spoke to someone regarding this kit, if it was truly plug and play and no modification. Strutmasters assured me it was bolt on replacement.
I placed the order and the sales rep was polite. I received the product and some installiation issues as the one of struts was not drilled, so the vehicle could not be aligned, I called Strutmaster spoke to my sales rep and he said he would get someone to help me, they placed me on hold as the rep admittedly told me that he was new taken orders wen he put me on hold , then sent me to a voice mailbox. I called back and they told me their employee that handle this was no longer employed and they couldn't help me to leave a message for their new tech. 2 days went by no call from strutmasters.I then placed a call to my sales rep and stated I wanted to speak with a manager. In about a couple hours I received a call from Angelo, he did apologize for not contacting me sooner, and I explained the issues I was having with the right front struts as it was not drilled to specs, He instructed me to drill his product, I explained to Angelo that their product is advertised as no drill, no modification, Angelo refused to send me a new strut, but stated he would issue me a credit for the time to drill out the strut. I called Angelo back the next day and received his VM, I explained the that I drilled the right front strut, but I am having noise in the rear as the rear shocks are defective. I placed calls 4/15, 4/19, 4/20, 4/21. with received no call backs. This company is quick to take your money but any future support is slim to none, considering that advertise a lifetime warranty, how can a customer obtain it?
