(More customer reviews)I bought two of these shocks to replace the stock shocks on my 2001 Ford Escape. Installation was easy once I figured out how to lift the car up on jack stands without raising the tires (lift the center box frame part). After that raise the tires to take the tension off the existing shock, pull the bolts off, replace, tension, and drop the tire back down.
I was happy with the quality of the shock, solid metal, very sturdy feeling. Much better than the plastic body on the stock shocks.
I noticed a definite positive improvement in the way the car handled. The old shocks had 160,000 miles on them. I am looking to replace the front two with monroe in the near future.
