I'd been on vacation, hadn't driven the car in a few weeks, came back to find the battery too low to start; the Schumacher did not do the trick. It's hard to say whether this was a fair test. I eventually used, not a jump-starter, but a recharger on the battery, which since then has worked fine. So we'll see how the jump-starter works if there's a next time, but it did not work in the emergency that I had.
