Hitachi WR18DL 18-volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Wrench Review

(More customer reviews)I install garage doors, and my impact wrench is my number one weapon. I have owned a 14.4 Milwaukee, 14.4 DeWalt, 18v DeWalt, and now this one. I had to send the Milwaukee back numerous times because of it's poor build quality. I have had motors die on the DeWalt due to its poor cooling design. There are small plastic fins in the motor which move air and keep the motor cool, and they have broken of on every DeWalt impact I have owned. I have been using the Hitachi for more than 4 months without a problem. I look actually look forward to using it. The battery stays secured to the drill, even after a four five foot fall. I laughed at the little light it comes with at first, but it has come in handy in dark garages. The torque is strong enough to pull the lug nuts of a wheel hub, and the battery life is stellar. One battery will get me through multiple double sized garage door installs. The DeWalt would kill at least too full batteries in only one install. It's safe to say that one Hitachi lithium-ion batter = 3+ DeWalt NiCads.
Another reviewer has mentioned a bad smell from the motor. All my impacts, drills, saws, and other power tools have gave off burning odor during the break-in of the tool. This is normal.
One other component of the impact which I enjoy is the pin. Unlike the DeWalt, the pin is designed to keep the socket secure when the pin of the impact is in line with the hole of the socket. The socket WILL come off of the impact with a little force unlike the DeWalt. With the DeWalt, the pin had to be compressed with a nail or screw in order to remove the socket.
To sum this review up... Buy the Hitachi.

but once you are exposed to HD you don't want to go back.
I had to add Solid State Relays for the dome light to work because the vehicle uses ground to trigger the dome light and the monitor dome lights are +12V trigger. It is hard to reach the monitor drop down release button, the power button and the dome light switch. The power and dome light switches should be located on the back side closest the driver. There is very little room for the cables once the SSR's [...] and additional switches were added.

But now that it is here I find that it is a great OBDII Code Reader and a cool automotive performance meter as well. It's like two products in one! As an OBDII Code Reader, it satisfies all my needs. Like the high end code scanners, it can access data stored in your car's memory as well as Live data. The DashDyno provides access to all engine sensors and displays them as a graphical Gauge, Bar Graph, Line Graph, etc., etc. It can even display Turbo Boost as a Gauge - that's cool.
Auterra's DashDyno also provides automotive performance assessment similar to the G-Tech Pro. The unit can measure and display 0 - 60 and 1/4 Mile Acceleration times as well as Power and Torque. The Power and Torque graphs that can be displayed on the screen are exactly like what you see in all the Car Magazines! About the only thing it can't do is display cornering G's.
In addition, the DashDyno provides a Trip Computer that can monitor Instantaneous as well as Average Fuel Economy - a function that my car does not normally provide. Very Cool."

Flex-a-lite 580 '73-'86 Jeep CJ Dual Electric Fan Review

(More customer reviews)With the factory radiator in my 82 CJ-7 I had to drill a couple new holes in the fan mounts to make it work and the clearance between the fan and water pump was pretty tight. Shortly after this I had to replace the radiator and bought a high dollar aluminum radiator which required me to clearance the fan shroud for the inlet and outlet necks. Now there is definately not enough clearance and the bolts that are holding the water pump pulley on are hitting the fan. Still fabricating to make it work and haven't even started on setting up an automatic switch. Planned to run a temp switch in the lower radiator hose because it should be far more accurate than the probe stuck through the radiator but good luck finding a switch to fit flexalite's 1/4" fitting. I'll probably have to cut it and weld in a 3/8" or 1/2". This fan and the aluminum radiator are definately going to keep it cool in AZ though...once I get it all fab'd together.

BUT DO NOT USE DURING FIRE SEASON!

Escort Passport 9500ix Radar/Laser Detector (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)WHICH ONE IS BETTER? READ AND FIND OUT. I bought both the Escort 9500ix and Beltronics GX65 for a week long, on dash, real world comparison. They both are sold by the same company and they offer a 30 day, money back guarantee. I figured, what the heck.....I'll try them out, side by side. These units were both mounted at the same level on the window of my truck.
I read all the reviews I could get my hands on and narrowed it down to these two radar detectors. The Escort 9500ix and Beltronics GX65 models are touted as the most sensitive window mounted units available with the new "GPS" advantage.
DISPLAY- Both units have the option of dim, medium, bright, dark and auto mode. The Escort 9500ix has blue lights. The background of this unit is black, but glows blue around the numbers, to a point of skewing the display a little bit. At night, it is easier to read. The Beltronics GX65 has red lights with a pure black background. The GX65 display is crystal clear, day or night. Advantage Beltronics GX65. Importance - Moderate.
POWER CORD- While sitting behind the wheel, the Escort 9500ix cord plugs in on the left hand side of the detector unit. The Beltronics GX65 cord plugs in on the right hand side. Depending upon the set up of your vehicle, SPECIFICALLY THE LOCATION OF YOUR POWER SUPPLY, this could make a big difference. Both of the detectors have a dark display mode, where the display goes completely black (for night use, so other drivers can't see your detector). While using dark mode, the only thing that lights up is the very end of the power cord, where it plugs into the power supply. The unit still makes sound, but only you will be able to see the light at the power supply. Very ingenious idea! Advantage to neither. It depends upon the location of you power supply. Importance - Moderate
SIZE and BUTTONS - Both units of virtually the same size, however, I personally prefer the shape and button layout of the Beltronics GX65. Importance - Low
WINDOW MOUNT - Both the 9500ix and GX65 use the same exact window mounts. For an expensive $500 dollar radar detector, I feel that the mounts are very cheesy. My old mount on my $79 Whistler was superior to this window mount. Both of these units tap the window when driving. This is due to the design of the mount. The mother company needs to improve this window mount in my opinion. Importance - Moderate
GPS "LOCKOUT" CAPABILITY - Both units have the ability to "Lockout" any false signal. When you know the detector is sensing a false signal, all you need to do is tap a button three times and it will permanently lock out the false signal. This is an absolutely fantastic feature. Both detectors also have the ability to warn you of red light cameras, photo cameras and speed traps. This is also a nice advancement. You can manually set the detector to warn you of any known speed trap in your area. Nice feature! The only GPS negative is when you're driving down the interstate and you drive over an intersection with a red light camera. The detector will sound, even though your not going through the light. This is the only negative I've found regarding the GPS system. Importance - VERY HIGH
AUTO LEARN - This feature is only on the 9500ix. You drive a false signal 3 times and the 9500ix will automatically lock out the signal permanently. For any proactive person (most people who purchase a radar detector!), this feature is not that important. The moment I drive by any false signal, I lock it out immediately. Why would I wait to drive by it 3 times? It only takes three taps of a button. On the other hand, for someone who is electronically challenged, this feature might be a lifesaver.With this feature, theoretically, after a few weeks of driving, you should be able to drive around your home area, never touch your detector and all false signals will be locked out. Therefore, no more false alarms, Police warnings only! Advantage: Escort 9500ix. Importance - Moderate
SENSITIVITY - This area is the most important of all. The reviews and tests I've read online, showed the 9500ix as being slightly more sensitive to Ka, K band and laser. It's only a few hundred feet, but that could be the difference between a speeding ticket or not.
These results are not scientific, but in every situation I encountered, the 9500ix picked up true police radar a second to a few seconds quicker the the GX65. This is really the main reason I decided to keep the Escort Passport 9500ix. In my opinion (and the scientific results back it up), the sensitivity of the 9500ix is superior to the GX65. Advantage: Escort Passport 9500ix. Importance - CRUCIAL.
THE WINNER, and better detector where it matters most is.................. the ESCORT PASSPORT 9500ix. I shipped the Beltronics GX65 back for a full refund.

All i need was a little flashlight to match the red power connections and i was done in about 30 min. And the results are great. I would advise most people get the 8 light set because if you got 4, and you wanted more the expansion pack price is high. I got these lights for the flare but i am really happy that i can be seen. I feel more comfortable riding after dark especially on a black bike.

Tried for 3 days to charge the battery. The battery would take a charge from the automobile adapter.
I returned it. Amazon was very good about the return (5 stars for Amazon)
Don't know if the item was defective due to manufacture or design.
When I purchased it there was low stock and that vendor soon disappeared from Amazon for that product
(Was it a returned item that was resold???)
Other vendors appear to have low stock as well.
I am looking for the same product from other vendors and more reviews;
hopefully favorable. The one review here also had low output voltage!

That's what I keep telling myself, anyway. ;)
Instructions:
1. Read the instructions. Let me put that another way: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
2. Open the valve on the propane tank.
3. Open the the adjustable needle valve a little bit. A very little bit will do. Really.
4. Use the included spark lighter to ignite the pilot light.
5. Point the wand in a safe direction and squeeze the squeeze valve.
6. Avoid the temptation to imagine that you're Zeus zapping a jet of thick, blue flame down on the bad vegetables.

Seriously, I recommend this product, particularly if you have a couple of acres + property that needs weeding and clearing all the time. A real labor-saver.

Because of the price, I decided to go ahead and pay someone to properly install it. This is a beast! It provides a very secure area to house a nice stereo which doesn't require a removable face, and it has the same locking system that is on the secure glove box, which I also have. Nice padded top as well. Initially I thought the black color would not blend in with the gray and charcoal interior of this vehicle, but it looks great. This is the best money you could spend if you have an older Wrangler that can't be adequately secured. No security issues now! A beast!

(More customer reviews)I moved up from a Shoei RF-900 and a Arai Signet GT into a Shoei X-12. I love my RF-900, but this X-12 ROCKS!!! The ventilation is outstanding. When it is cool you have to close the vent that is directed at your forehead or your brain will freeze. Ha! The sheild removal has always rivaled the Arai, and the new system is no exception. I got the blue and white Kiyonari and added the blue spectra shield, and I have to say, it is the coolest helmet that I have ever seen. The shape of the helmet just looks cool, but obviously aerodynamics are the source of the design. The weight increased slightly over the X-11, but it is nominal. I tried on the X-11 and the Quantum V, but the X-12 felt the best. I am very pleased with my purchase decision, and if I wreck this one would not hesitate to purchase another. In my opinion, I own the best helmet on the market, and my head is worth it!
