(More customer reviews)The real question here is whether or not the flip up nature of the helmet is worth the additional price. I get a lot of utility being able to increase my peripheral vision while backing up. If you aren't riding on freeways or busy streets, but rather have the opportunity to pull over easily to grab some water, it's also a nice feature.
Detrimentally though, it fogs more readily than a much cheaper scorpion helmet, and the buckle pull constantly rotates into an annoying position making the helmet difficult to fasten if you've already put your gloves on. Operation while riding is rather simple, although the top air intake setting is so easily changed that you have to check it each time to make sure it has not been closed inadvertently.
Aesthetically, it's worth noting that with ten minutes, a plastic kitchen scraper, and some goo-gone, you can remove the obnoxious forehead billboard Shoei apparently thinks none of us mind displaying to advertise for them. This particular color happens to match the '07 suzuki sv red color. It also matches the similar yamaha color.
