I ordered these lights by PIAA for my FJ Cruiser and could find little or no reviews on them anywhere, so here is one. The kit was pretty good quality. I so much wanted it to be better though and give me confidence in it. The lights themselves seemed great with metal contruction and large size. I did however return the kit to Amazon without attempting to install. I am quite dissapointed that with the nice mounting holes under the bumper skin of the FJ that a better kit doesn't seem to exist. The Toyota lights cost $300 or more and the lights themselves are made of plastic. I have seen the Toyota kit installed and after a couple years, it looks rough and cheap like at any moment a light might just fall off. The PIAA set has great potential but there really isn't much of a bracket to mount the light to the bumper. The bracket is very small, utilizes only one of the two bolt holes in the bumper, and therefore reduces the pressure where it would connect to the bumper to a very small foot print. As part of the mounting, brackets for mounting inside of the bumper and connecting to the frame for what seems to be additional support appear to be a tedious thing to get right as the installed kits I have seen on other FJ's since I returned this have all resulted in lights that were slightly crooked and not so professionally done even when installed by the dealer. A crooked light will be most obvious because of the grill over the light which was to my suprise a plastic snap on piece. I paid over $30k for my FJ and I don't want to junk it up with a light kit that only has great potential but leaves room for more attention to detail. Another thing that bugged me was the switch for inside on the dash. It isn't a matching switch that would go into one of the option cut-outs. No, it comes with a piece of 2-sided tape to stick it "somewhere." Again, my new vehicle is nice and clean and I am not ready to start junking it up by having exposed wire hanging out of the dash, maybe when it has 80K miles on it. Optimally, if you have the money and time, I would think the best thing to do if you want lights on your stock FJ bumper, you should buy both the $300 Toyota OEM light kit that comes with nice brakets that bolt nicely on the bumper skin and into the bolt holes of the bumper & this kit to get the better quality high proformance lights. Use the Toyota switch and brackets with the PiAA lights...somehow...it might work, but might take time to make the wiring compatible and to do a nice job. I myself feel like the FJ would be very well served to have a set of additional lights as I have driven in places at night where there are no street lights and the terrain was uncertain, but unfortunatley it seems the best way to do this is to add a steel bumper or fabricate parts yourself if you have that capability. Maybe a shop speciallized in auto-lighting like those places that put lights on volunteer firemen's pickups could fit the FJ but once you cut holes in that bumper skin you are pretty much committed and I didn't want something I would have to continually futz with to get it right and didn't want to spend a million dollars either.
